Second Exposition

The first episode leads us to a second exposition. The voices will appear in the same order as before but with some interesting variations.

The alto starts with the subject (note the use of motives a - d):

A short episode prepares the soprano:

The soprano presents an answer, but this time is a real answer. There is a false entrance of the bass two beats afterwards:

The bass takes us to the G minor key with a tonal answer in stretto in relation to the soprano:

A longer episode precedes the tenor:

Finally, the subject in the tenor brings us back to D minor:

Some theorist may prefer to call this section a counter-exposition or a re-exposition. We prefer to call it a second exposition because there are some discrepancies between theorist in defining these terms.
